In its efforts to rid the State of cultism, men of Ogun State police Command on Sunday, January 17,2021 clamped down heavily on members of Eiye and Aiye cult groups who embarked on supremacy battle in Ifo area of the State.
A distress call that was made to IFO divisional headquarters that, due to the supremacy battle ongoing between the Eiye and Aiye confraternity cult groups, one of the cultists whose real name is yet to be confirmed but popularly known as Ofada has been killed.
The DPO; CSP Adekunle Adeniyi after receiving the information, quickly led his men to the scene where they met two others with gun-shot injuries, CP Adeniyi apprehended the two and quickly traced the rampaging cultist to Iyana Coker area where three amongst the Eiye and Aiye cult groups were arrested.
During an on-the-spot interrogation, the arrested Eiye and Aiye gang, Soji Olamilekan, 29, Shobande Olalekan, 26 and Solomon Fadebi, 33 years-old informed the police that their other members were at Osuke area of Onipanu in Ota Area planning to launch another round of attack.
Based on the information, the DPO Onipanu division was contacted and he quickly moved to Osuke area where he met a group of cultists holding a meeting in a bush. On sighting the policemen, the hoodlums took to their heels but they were hotly chased and with the assistance of the youths in the area, four (4) amongst the cultists, Balogun Oluwaseun, 22, Joseph Onwe, 24, Peter Raphael and Yusuf Emmanuel, 26 years-old were apprehended.
While investigation was going on, information got to the police that one of the cultists was seen receiving gun-shot treatment in Arobiye village in Ota, DPO Onipanu swiftly moved in there and also apprehended 22-years-old Toheeb Olorunkemi, and the suspect confessed to participating in the IFO crisis

The corpse of the slain cultist has been recovered to the general hospital mortuary, while the injured ones have been taken to the same general hospital for medical care.
Meanwhile, Ogun state police command again, on January 14, 2021 arrested three (3) suspected armed robbers who came from Lagos State to carry out robbery operation in Ogun state.
The suspects, Samuel Sunday, a 20-year-old resident of Fagba in Lagos State, Adeleke Mustapha a 22 years-old resident of Ajala area of Lagos State and Joel Rotimi, a 19 year-old resident of Taju Bello street Agbado in Ogun state were arrested following a distress call received by the police in Ajuwon from residents of Iju-Shaga area of Ajuwon at about 1:45 am, that armed hoodlums numbering about six (6) have invaded the area and dispossessing innocent members of the community of their valuables.
Upon the distress call, SP Andrew Akinseye, DPO Ajuwon quickly led his men to the area where the hoodlums who took to their heels on sighting policemen were chased and apprehended.
Recovered from them are a cut to size locally made pistol, four Bajaj motorcycles, weeds suspected to be Indian hemp, two voters’ card and two national Identity cards.
The Commissioner of Police,CP Edward Awolowo Ajogun has ordered the transfer of both the Eiye and Aiye cult groups and the arrested armed robber suspects to State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) for a discreet and indebt investigation.
