The Delta state police command under the watch of CP Ari Muhammed Ali has recorded another major breakthrough in the fight against kidnappers in the state by apprehending a 30-years-old suspected serial Kidnapper.

 Acting on available intelligence, a team of the Delta state police Command’s Special Anti Kidnapping and Cyber Crime Squad (SAKCCS) operatives on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at Abraka arrested one Akpos James, a.k.a  general, a native of Ekeremor LGA Bayelsa State. The suspected serial kidnapper was arrested in connection to the killing of policemen at an eatery in ughelli on Saturday, January 10, 2021  coupled with several kidnapping/armed robbery within  Abraka, Warri, Ughelli and  Sapele environs.

Upon interrogation, the suspected serial Kidnapper who gave useful Information in connection  to the crimes, led same SAKCCS operatives to the gang’s hideout  at Bomadi waterside on Friday, April 30, 2021 around 2:40am, where other members of his gang were engaged in a gun battle, but owing to the superior fire power of the police, members of the gang escaped with various degrees of gun shot injuries into the river.
Two Ak47 rifles,  one hundred and fourteen (114) rounds of 7.62 ammunition  with six (6) magazines  were recovered from the suspected serial Kidnapper, while manhunt for the fleeing members of the gang is ongoing.
Members of the public are enjoined to help the police by giving any useful information that will lead to the arrest of the other fleeing members of the gang, while assuring them that their identity will be treated with high level of confidentiality.
In another development, on Thursday, April 29, 2021 a patrol team of police men attached to 51pmf,  while on nipping point  along Abraka/Eku expressway around 12: 30am flagged down a tinted Toyota Camry car with Reg no LKJ 52 AW Gold colour, driven by one 27-years-old man Seidu Mohammed  of Oworo Estate Felele  Lokoja-Kogi State with  one Samuel Daniel, 28-years of age  and Yusuf Mekudu all of the same oworo estate  lokoja-kogi state, and they could not give satisfactory account of themselves and how they got the vehicle.Serial
They were arrested and taken to the police station. During interrogation, they confessed that they stole the car on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at about 1230hrs  from where it was  parked  at international market  Lokoja.
The 3-man-gang is presently assisting the police in their Investigation and they will be charged to court once investigation is completed.
