[Ogun State Police Command have finally unraveled the mystery behind the killing of J.B hotelier, Mr. JImoh Bello in Owode-Yewa area of the state after months of painstaking investigation.
The hotelier was found dead on the May 29, 2020 in the booth of his Toyota Camry car parked at Omo-Ilu Owotedo area, via Idiroko town.
The residents of the area eere said to have noticed the car parked for too long and suspected a foul play especially when it was rumoured that the hotelier was missing.
According to information gathered, their suspicion increased when an offensive odor began gushing out of the vehicle. They immediately filed a report at the Idiroko divisional headquarters.
When the police got to the scene, the car door was forced open and the corpse of the hotelier was discovered in the booth of the car.
The case was subsequently transferred to the Homicide section of the State Criminal investigation and intelligence department for discreet investigation with a clear mandate to fish out the hotelier’s killers.
Idiroko divisional officer, CSP Femi Olabode promptly led a team of able detectives and embarked on an intelligence and technical based investigation, to unravel the reason for the hotelier ‘s murder, which led them to the arrest of a 20 year-old self acclaimed herbalist.
The herbalist, Misipode Dosu was said to have been the last person to see the hotelier alive.
According to the state image maker, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi who confirmed the story, upon interrogation, the suspect confessed to the fact that the hotelier contracted him for a money making ritual and he billed him the sum of #300,000 out of which the hotelier, late Jimoh Bello had paid him #250,000.
According to Dosu, the now deceased hotelier started pressurizing him to complete the money making ritual and out of fear that the deceased might report him to the police for obtaining money from him under false pretence, invited him to come for the final stage of the ritual at Idiroko.
“On getting there, I gave him a concoction prepared with a poisonous substance to eat and he slumped and died immediately he ate the concoction. I carried and dumped his lifeless body into the booth of his car, drove the car and parked it at the place where the corpse was recovered.” Dosu, the suspect confessed.
The Commissioner of Police, Edward A. Ajogun, praised his men for a job well done and directed that the suspect be arraigned before a court of competent jurisdiction as soon as the investigation is concluded.
