Two (2) suspected armed robbers were on Sunday, May 9, 2021, shot dead at Sagamu interchange, along Lagos -Ibadan expressway by security operatives of the Ogun State Police Command.

The two (2) suspects were shot dead following a distress call received by the DPO Sagamu Division, CSP Okiki Agunbiade, around 9:00pm, about a robbery operation that was going on at Sagamu interchange and that one of their victims has been seriously injured. Operatives
Upon receiving the distress call, the DPO quickly led his security operatives to the scene where they met the robbers attacking another victim, one Agba Enoch.
The robbers, sighting the security operatives opened fire engaging them in gun duel, at the end of which two (2) members of the gang were shot dead, while others escaped with gun shot injuries.
Items recovered from them are; three (3) handsets, one mock guns, one electric clipper, three (3) ATM cards and one blood stained cutlass.
The injured victim, one Adekunle Adewale, who was seriously matcheted on the head was rushed to hospital for medical attention.Operatives
The Commissioner of Police, Edward Awolowo Ajogun, commended the gallantry display of his men and directed that a massive manhunt be launched for the fleeing members of the gang.
He equally appealed to members of the public, especially hospitals, to discreetly alert the police if anybody with gun shot injuries is sighted in their area.
