The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Olohundare Jimoh, on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, has presented welfare cheques amounting to ₦24,144,997.49 to the families of 22 Police officers who lost their lives in active service.

The symbolic presentation from the IGP, held in Lagos, forms part of the Group Life Assurance and IGP Family Welfare Schemes of the Nigeria Police Force, a compassionate initiative designed to provide financial relief and long-term support to the families of officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.IGP

The gesture reflects the unwavering commitment of IGP Egbetokun, the 22nd Indigenous Inspector-General of Police , to the welfare and well-being of police personnel and their families. It underscores his compassionate leadership and firm resolve to ensure that the heroism and service of fallen officers are never forgotten.

In his remarks during the cheque presentation, CP Olohundare Jimoh commended the Inspector-General of Police for his consistent dedication to officers’ welfare, describing him as a leader with a genuine concern for the human side of policing.

“This gesture not only restores hope to bereaved families but also strengthens the morale of serving officers who now know their sacrifices are valued and recognized,” he said.IGP

The Commissioner extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the fallen heroes, praying for divine comfort and strength to help them bear their loss. He reaffirmed that the Lagos State Command holds the memory of the deceased officers in high esteem and encouraged the beneficiaries to take pride in the noble legacies of their loved ones.
